The Chitwan National Park

Chitwan National Park stands as a testament to Nepal's commitment to preserving its rich biodiversity and natural heritage. The wanton hunting continued into the early 20th century, culminating in staggering numbers of wildlife killed. Fortunately, with the establishment of Chitwan National Park in 1973, accompanied by stringent anti-poaching measures and conservation efforts, the park began to witness a resurgence in its wildlife populations.

Today, Chitwan National Park stands as a beacon of successful conservation, boasting a thriving ecosystem that is home to rare and endangered species such as the one-horned rhinoceros, Royal Bengal tiger, crocodiles, elephants, deer, and an impressive array of birdlife.
